Environment

An environmentally sustainable philosophy has been applied to the whole of the Mannum Waters development both in the provision of the land division elements and the guidelines for future housing. In particular, water and energy efficiency measures are encouraged to minimise the development's ecological footprint.

Our intent is to create an attractive riverside environment.

Sustainable Initiatives

Mannum Waters is committed to delivering sustainable initiatives.

Many of the design elements of the Land Owner's Charter improve housing sustainability. Recommendations relating to shading, solar hot water heaters, rainwater tanks, cross-ventilation, use of colour, roof design and ventilation, mechanical cooling and stormwater management are all part of making Mannum Waters more sustainable.

Minimising energy use as a household is a very important personal contribution that you can make to reduce green house gas emissions.

All new residential dwellings should be fitted with:

  1. AAA rated water efficient taps
  2. AAA rated shower roses
  3. AAA dual flush cisterns

Well planned and implemented landscaping increases the appeal and value of properties. It also contributes to the overall landscaped character of the suburb and provides an environmental resource.

Water efficient garden design is encouraged by reducing the areas of irrigated grass, on-site retention of stormwater, use of drip irrigation, and mulch.
